The 5th August 2018 fixture was a very enjoyable affair and for the 3rd year running, Farley came out on top. Queries were skippered by Jon Moore who opted to field first in a 35 over game. Farley finished on 223 for 8 with Matt Haslett and Pete Burdis taking 2 wkts apiece. After a great tea we didn’t score fast enough against some decent bowling, and eventually ran out at 189 for 8. Simon Campbell top-scored with 50 before holing out and Hugh Norman, who had bowled well in the first innings, made a useful 45 before being bowled.
After the match, we enjoyed a modest libation or two, a bar-b-q, a lot of chat and a pleasant evening spent at the pavilion with the sun setting.
