The Queries enjoyed a good win against the Free Foresters on the Tidworth ground on the 4th June. It was a beautiful day, the ground was in great nick and the place looked a picture! Jack Bramwell skippered the Queries in place of Tom Shaw who was injured, and he had a wealth of skills and talent at his disposal. It is not often that a side gets the Free Foresters 6 down before lunch. It was a combination of good skippering and field placing, good spin bowling, teasing medium pace and Queries holding their catches. FFs were all out for 184 in their 50th over on the stroke of 3 o’clock. Our reply didn’t go entirely to plan as James Illingworth was bowled 5th ball, however Tom Godfrey-Faussett and George Elliott had a fine partnership of 75 when George went walkabout and was stumped. Skipper Jack Bramwell and David Bromley both added useful runs and finnaly Tom G-F finished it off with a 4 to extra cover for a win by 5 wickets.
